clarksvilletourguide 🇺🇸 The Fort Campbell Historical Foundation is thrilled to announce the upcoming Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum, a 75,000-square-foot facility dedicated to honoring the legacy and sacrifice of American servicemen and women who have served in the divisions at Fort Campbell. Their dream is for visitors to leave with a renewed appreciation and respect for the military and all that has been given for them. The museum will be located on a 35-acre site on Fort Campbell Boulevard and Tiny Town Road, boasting a 130 feet wide, 540 feet long and 25 feet tall facility with a 60-foot vaulted roof in the multi-purpose room. The main exhibit hall, called Sky Hall, will honor the history of the 101st, 5th Group and 160th, with a gift shop, parade grounds and a memorial building. Visitors will be greeted by a D-Day glider in the lobby and have the opportunity to see 10 large aircraft on display outside and smaller aircraft and vehicles inside. Pylons outside the building will honor various Fort Campbell troop missions. The museum will have its own entrance, so access to Post is not required. This will have a huge impact on the economy in North Clarksville, which has stagnated as other areas of the city have improved. Similar museums in other cities have drawn hotels, restaurants, shops and convention centers nearby. This is an exciting opportunity for the community and we can't wait to see the positive impact it will have on north Clarksville. This large-scale community development was previously known as "Killebrew" during the initial zoning process, but has since been renamed "Marcelina." As one of the largest developments in the area, "Marcelina" will feature a wide range of amenities for residents and visitors alike. The development will include schools, housing options, and a variety of retail and dining options. With multiple phases planned, the development will be a true destination for the community. Phase 1 of the development is now underway, and is set to be completed in the spring of 2024. This is an exciting time for the community, as "Marcelina" will bring new opportunities for growth and development.
